After 35+ years, I've recently switched to the E. Gerber Mylites 2 and find these to be the best comic book protector bag sleeves available. I am changing out my entire collection to these Mylites 2 so that I will never again have to worry about the Poly bags degrading over time that begin to destroy the comic. I use E. Gerber Half-Back backing boards also to reinforce the comic books. The colors pop and look great on the Mylites 2. I should never again for the remainder of my life have to change out these comic book bags.

The 2 ml mylar is the best for protecting your comics. The 4 ml protects your books well, but is to thick and cumbersome. I would only use those for books with the sturdier covers. The 1.4 ml is good but aren't as rigid and doesn't support them quite as well. Regardless of which thickness you choose, be aware that a backing board is still recommended. The mylar, however, should protect your books forever, because they repel moisture. That's how I feel about it.

30 years later, I finally 'bit the bullet' and got these to replace the poly bags my collection had been in. Who knows if these will do anything to make them 'better,' but maybe just keep them from getting 'worse.' Buy in bulk (definitely). These things seem excellent, if still a bit expensive.

These are good if you want Mylar instead of plastic bags holding your comics. They have a top flap that can be taped down if you want to board and bag comics. My old Mylars that are thicker and can be used without a board are better, but these are good value for your money.

Mylar is superior to any form of comic book protection and Gerber product is uniform and consistent in quality. If you have books you want to preserve whether a $10.00 copy of $100,000 this is the best material to use.
