This is an excellent kit. Basically, everything needed for installation is included, from the transfer switch to the exterior-rated connector to the building. Even the umbilical cable for connecting to the generator is of high quality. I had an electrician do the wiring for me, but could have done it myself with the nice videos that are offered online for these. My electrician, who has been in the business for many years (over 30), was impressed by the quality of the unit, and that the transfer switch came pre-wired, with lettering on the wiring to identify each circuit breaker chosen. The option for commonly available non-propriety replacement circuit breakers, if ever needed, was an added bonus. My electrician admitted that the unit was a more practical and safer solution than what he used at his own home for emergency generator use. This is the one to buy if you are looking for a nice package that is well engineered, and of good quality materials. In my opinion, it is well worth a few extra dollars over other competing units. Do yourself a favor and be sure to get the current version of this with non-propriety circuit breakers. Everything you need, with the exception of the wiring from the plug to transfer switch, is included. I am very impressed with what I received in the kit and would definitely buy again if needed for another property.Read full review

As an electrician this product is excellent! It has real GE circuit breakers unlike the cheaper ones that are a push button type. Very well made and easy to install. The metal flex is quite short but that can be changed easy at installation. They even give you both connectors to go into the panel, a 90degree and a straight type. Highly recommend this unit has everything needed to power the house except an electrician to install it.

Very well built transfer switch, wires were long enough to meet my needs in my breaker box. The only con I have is the labeling on the wires was a bit hard to read, but when I got my glasses on and figured out the position of the labeling, I was fine. Already tested it out with my crappy 18 year generator, and it worked great. I really need to get one of those inverter style generators to run my state-of-art furnace.

Well made and easy installing. Unit has to be close to your electrical (18 inches or less) and accessible. Should enter from the bottom or wires may be short. But this product does the job. Pro's: Quality and easy installation. Cons : wires maybe short if not careful

Great transfer switch for a backup generator. Comes with almost everything you need, and is easily customizable. I needed more switch ties, so I called the company to order them. They sent them to me at no charge. My circuits required dual pole breakers, and it was easy to find the parts I needed at my local hardware store. The only parts I had to purchase were the different breakers (Siemens QP), 10-3 wire for the external inlet, wire staples, NM box clamps and mounting hardware (in my case, masonry screws). All things a local hardware store should have. The transfer switch can handle 30 amps and has 1 dual pole 30 amp slot. The other 8 slots can be either 15 or 20 amps and can all handle dual pole circuits (10 individual or 5 dual pole). It took most of a weekend to install, and can be done by 1 person. The installer should have good knowledge of electrical wiring, code, and safety as this connects directly to the main breaker panel. All parts included are high quality and I expect to get many years of use from this system. Read full review
