There are a lot of new pressings of old records being issued today. Some are hastily done based on old, original masters or possibly even off of old plates. Cheap, dirty vinyl. They sound bad. Often not nearly as good as the original releases. Or, they use a poorly made re-master done for CDs 20 years earlier. Technology has changed. Then you have records done right. First, they went back to the original recordings and re-mastered them using today's technology. When done well they can lower the noise floor substantially. These records are dead quiet during silent passages. They improve the dynamics, dramatically. They clean up problems with the original recordings. When done, they have a nearly perfect master that is produced with technology that is several generations better. From the master they create a new mold and then new pressing plates. And then they press into quality, heavyweight vinyl. The result is a remarkable new record that sounds far better than what was possible at the time of the original recordings.
