I love it! First I don't listen to rap or hip hop or any other bass heavy music. I listen to metal, classic rock, and sometimes even classical music. These types of music need a more balanced tone, not bass heavy. I want to hear everything, the vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, etc all equally. And this boombox does that well. Pros: Comes in flat black with shiny black trim. Allows music from many sources including Bluetooth, USB, CD,FM radio, and mini ssd. Has a nice carrying handle, is not that heavy but might be if using the batteries. It uses two sources for power. AC or eight size D batteries. It has party lights. There are seven colors and one setting that rotates one color to the other. It seems to pickup FM pretty well where I live. And it remembers my stations with just a single push of a button on the remote. Another thing I liked is when using USB the remote allows you to move from folder to folder so you can listen to whichever CD you ripped. Does come with a metal antenna for the radio part. The remote lets you control practically everything. Cons: There is only one setting for the lights, they only blink on and off. They don't react to the music. The antenna is only about one foot long. It wouldn't have cost that much more to make it at least two or three. And for some who are worried about the bass, no it doesn't boom bass like you probably want. For me and others though that like metal or classic rock or even country music I think this is perfect. Is it loud? yes. But not window shattering loud. The neighbors won't complain unless they are upstairs and it's a work night. But you'll hear it from anywhere in the house. Great for the garage or maybe cookouts or late night parties for just a few friends. But I really like it myself. Clean sound, it looks cool, and plays my old CD's I've kept all these years. If you're not worried about "bass" then get it. It's really cool. Read full review

Supposedly not even made by Toshiba, just a company they allowed to use the name, and it shows. I like Toshiba's PC products, but this "boombox" is a disappointment. For one, it feels very insubstantial taken out of the box. I think McDonald's toy plastic is higher quality. Worse, everything you'd think would be a good feature, isn't. The lights are terrible, as all they do is one thing: flash like a bicyclist's taillight. They do nothing else. If they danced with the music, I'd change my review, because turning them off is a pain. It's the last option in the cycle. Every time power is removed from the stereo, indeed, you will have to turn off the lights. The remote feels awful, and some functions, like skipping to the next track on a CD, require two presses. The volume only requires one, go figure. Despite having 4 speakers, they all sound dreadful. Worse, none of them are substantially protected from debris or piercing objects, as they only have a plastic "bar" protecting them, which will undeniably be confused with handles to carry it. Even worse, the sound shaping options make it go from "dreadful" to "throw it over the fence". What made me return it is, no SLEEP option. That's 100% my fault, I didn't check to see if it had this feature that every stereo boombox I've ever used in my life had. Instead, I bought a Sony ZS-PS50 which, while smaller with two speakers and no remote, sounds infinitely better with the mega bass toggled on (which it is by default). The Toshiba is a stinker for the price, and belongs with all the other Aliexpess garbage heavily promoted on Amazon. It's worth, maximum, 30 bucks with free shipping. Avoid this trash.Read full review

This unit accepts SD cards, USB sticks, external audio sources, plus the normal CD, FM, etc. It does not have an AM tuner, but not much left on the AM band these days. The sound quality is fine - a little bass-y, and the equalizer settings are just a toggle-through system, but easy enough to get used to. Overall, this is s great unit for the price, and we are pleased with it.

I am not sure about the durable part, I don't plan on using it as a bowling ball, but the tone and overall quality of the preset tones and final output is very pleasant. It has a deep enough bass, between 54 and 68 hz. I would like at least as low as 45, but it's nice for using as a background music source. Jazz preset is a nice all encompasing spot to start and use for most music. I am about 23 foot, walking distance from it, about 2 walls and the doorway to my kitchen, right now, listening to Statler Brother's Flowers on the Wall. It's very nice. It handles CDs quite well, it is nice that it also reads basic music files from an SD card. I think it may read MP3 from a CD but, I'm not sure yet. It has several play functions; single track, all tracks in order, repeat one, repeat all, shuffle. I like shuffle using the SD catd, it's very much like listening to a jukebox. 299+ songs being shuffled is great for cleaning. I have not tried the radio function, yet, but I rarely listen to it, anyway, so I'm not sure how the tuning or transmission reception quality is. Now, the "disco light" is lame. It pulses bright and dim in 7 different colors, 8 is one where it goes through the 7 that are individual colors. It flashes bright/dim at about 1/4 note at 120 beats a minute which rarely, if ever, matches the beat of the provided song. I am glad it has an off switch, #9, for the light show. I would recommend this item for a casual listening audio output. The sound output is very nice. Read full review

I really wish it had an AM channel. Also, I really don't like those disco lights. You can turn them off but it's not all that easy. Otherwise, it's a great sounding radio and bluetooth works great as well.
