Maytag Neptune Washer Bearings
Never did a job like this before, but there was no way I was buying a new washer or paying a repairman upwards of $600 to do this. Found a great how-to video on YouTube and followed the instructions. The new bearings work great. My washing machine now does this little squeak-chirp every so often, but no longer sounds like a Boeing 747 trying to take off. These parts work and fit perfectly. Getting the old out and making sure the new seated properly was a pain, but worth it. As a 5' tall female, with the help of my son, we got the washer apart, repaired, reassembled, and running beautifully again.Never did a job like this before, but there was no way I was buying a new washer or paying a repairman upwards of $600 to do this. No More Jet Engine Noise.
Bearings seem to work and very quiet. I had to look at a few videos to determine the right seal. The Oring is only used with the thicker seal and was not needed for my particular set up. I had to watch a few videos to confirm that. I was able to tap my old bearings out and did not have a press, but my bearings were not that corroded. I did put the new bearings in the freezer as recommended and seemed to help. Be prepared to spend a lot of time cleaning everything if your wife sees the inside. (joke). Have a large short handle hammer and a small supply of patients. The larger hammer stops you from having to hit so hard (Controlled Strikes).Bearings seem to work and very quiet. My neptune is back in service! Great kit especially great price! I was able to do the bearing replacement with out any special tools. I put my new bearings in the freezer when I got my kit. I removed my old bearings by cutting their races with a dremel, and they broke/tapped out. I heated my washers bearing housing with a heat gun to expand it some then was able to tap in my new frozen bearings with a hammer and a junk timing idler pulley to take the impact, so as not to damage my new bearings. These bearings are fine. But
If you are thinking of replacing the bearings in your washer....well, forget it! Talk about difficult. I finally gave up and bought a new Maytag from Sears. Yeah, I know, I am a wimp. I tried from days in very unpleasant positions and dark impossible areas. What a pain in the ****. Don't bother unless you have no other choice. Or like pain.

Maytag Neptune bearing and seal kit
Good quality bearings and seal in this kit. Plenty of tutorials on you tube about how to do this repair. About 5 hours work but worth it! $20 repair vs ~$900 from a repair service. Also a good time to replace a moldy door seal if you have that problem.
