With a match that burns like a flare for 20 or so seconds and does not care if its raining you'd have to have some serious lack of skills not to be able to light a fire. I use these when I am in a rush to set up camp and would like to eat just after. Build your fire, light and set the match in place and voila!, fire! Now if you have never built a fire and yes I mean build because I have seen people that could not light a fire with a torch, sad I know, then you need help or maybe a You Tube video, skill does apply. These work better then the Zippo matches and burn hotter and are less effected by water and damp conditions. Yes they are expensive but will save your hide in that I need fire now now situation because you went camping in the High Sierra Nevada's in early February and it decided to dump snow on your head by the metric ton! As with most everything you purchase, you get what you pay for, cliché I know but true. With all that said, do NOT get the striker wet, its not water proof hence the extra striker strips they give you or just light the match with a Bic. Stop reading reviews and buy them! They work and work well. Okay, time to go camping.Read full review

These matches are a life saver. I'd recommend keeping a box in every car. Also, these are great firestarter matches. I have never needed to use more than one match to start an interior or exterior fire.

Just like the video , you can dunk them in water and cover with dirt and they will light back up with a shake of your hand
