I started using A hand pump for my Hatsan bt65 .25 caliber PCP. It literally took 100 pumps to refill rifle after shooting 2 magazines. It took longer to fill with A hand pump than it did to shoot 2 magazines. I have a lot of trouble out of my shoulders and back, the hand pump caused even more pain so I decided to go for A compressor. I couldn't wait for this compressor to get here so I could enjoy shooting and not be too tired to shoot after filling with A hand pump. It arrived in less than A week. After reading the included Operation Manual, I was frustrated to discover it needs A special oil ISO VG46 or AW46. No one on YouTube mentioned this so I couldn't use my compressor until I found some AW46 hydraulic oil. All hydraulic oils I had laying around here was 10 weight or 15 weight, those are way to thin for the VG/ AW 46 oil the manual called for. So save yourself some waiting and time and get some VG 46 or AW 46 oil when you order this compressor. I stuck with AW46 because the AW oil has anti wear in it. My rifle needed refilled by then and this compressor filled my Hatsan bt65 in 45 seconds! Wow so much easier and faster than the hand pump. I really love the auto shut off, I have mine to shut off at 200 bar just below the rifles max fill. I've filled it A dozen times with no problems or leaks. Read full review

When this Compressor was received I read the instructions and was excited but anxious about getting it going so off the Garage I went to hook it all together. First I installed the temperature gauge which did NOT include batteries and it days no where what batteries it should take. Next I hooked the cooling pump up and when plugged in there was water leaking from the top section (Head) of the pump. It was coming out pretty bad. I should have stopped here but I was sure the pressure was off the compressor as stated in the instructions for BREAK IN. When the time was up I turned the screws in to close the outlets and to start making pressure, Again, it would not build pressure anywhere near even 1000 pounds. The return postage was a good cost of the initial purchase. I an a mechanic so I hit the web to see what I could do. I found the companies Parts page thanks to one of the members of a group. I have ordered a complete top section which was cheaper than return shipping. At this point I am awaiting the unit from I assume China and hoping that will solve my problem so I'm hoping. I find stuff from Across the Ocean is hit and miss, I received the miss. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR PURCHASE AND I HOPE IT DOES JUST WHAT YOU NEED! Ron from Nevada Read full review

It is a must item if you are into PCP Airgun. I have tried the manual pump after a week f doing the pumping, I gave up. i can't even get the pressure to 3000PSI. Got this pump and finally got to enjoy my Airgun with out the hassle of pumping after so often. The pump is easy to use. Set up is ok because you have to use water to cool it off. I only gave it 4 star because first of all it should have come with the Hydraulic oil at least to start you off instead I have to look around Auto store looking for one. Then there's the issue regarding the thermometer, mine did not came with the battery, so I have to drive out again to look for one and since it does not come with the instruction and size of the battery I have to make sure the one I got fits. LR44 is the right size by the way. All in all I was happy after getting it up and running. The machine is not loud at all, it's about the same as my pancake compressor. It only takes a minute to fill my Umarex gauntlet to 3000PSI. Temp only goes up to 40 degrees C to fill my airgun.Read full review

I have only used it twice to fill both of my 60 min. SCBA tanks from 3000 psi to 4500. I only had one small issue. At about 4000 psi there was some slight bubbling at the base of the cylinder where the gasket is but lets face it, 4000 psi is crazy pressure. I torqued the head/cylinder bolts a little as it was running and all was good. I do a lot of engine work and a torque that I felt was correct was good. I read a lot about the burst disks failing before 4500 psi and that was my biggest concern so for a test I took one tank to 4850 psi and no problems at all. She wasn`t even showing signs of being done. As far as the time it took, maybe 20 min. a piece. I don`t care if it took an hour, I can fill my tanks any time I want and at home. I used Mobil 1 10w30 full synthetic. That is an upgrade to the oil speced. It is a crank, rod, piston setup. There is no bearing between the crank and rod so a good synthetic is a plus. The hydro oil speced is approximately a 20 weight. I would not hesitate for a second to buy this compressor after using it twice.Read full review

So far so good!! Works nice and fast to fill my 230cc tank in my Hatsan AT-44 long. I have been spinning trying to find the correct oil and looked on forums. You can use almost any synthetic oil that's not too thick I would say NO gear oil. Porter Cable compressor oil works as does 10w40 synthetic motor oil. Use cheaper oil for first few oil changes and get all manufacturing gunk out. 10w40 is what I have in this now as you can see in the photo the new oil is yellow brown not clear like compressor oil. I do recommend this high pressure pump and the motor oil works for me dont overthink it but change oil often, as always your mileage may vary. When setting up the compressor check ALL connections but DON'T over tighten anything. Also check your burst disk mine was dented letting air past and it almost drove me nuts trying to find the air leak. So much air flying around soapy water trick didn't really work. Also I use a 5 gallon pail with 2 gallons of Prestone GM antifreeze for the coolant and pass the lines through the lid using bulkhead barbed hose meanders for return and pump. I use the surge bar only for the coolant pump not the yung heng pump itself so I can hit a switch for the water pump to come on. I am very pleased and glad I got this pump. Read full review
