Initially, the display on this black-faced timepiece appeared extremely dark, but when held at the proper viewing angle, it stands out boldly against its background. Being ALL black, it maintains a subtle yet bold presence, being comfortable and light in weight while on the wrist. The solar charging feature means no changing of batteries and uninterrupted use over the long run, resulting in a rather simple job of setting it and forgetting it until needed. A great price and value for what it is and how it performs.
