This unit is a value but it lacks some features one would expect: 1) Adjustment indicators. I'd even like detents that give the operator feedback as to the cut thickness. It's very difficult to make consistent sized slices with this unit. 2) The sliding mechanism isn't easily removable and is difficult to clean. Also this unit is a bit louder than others I've tried. It also has a plastic gear train that will easily strip if you end up cutting anything dense (or frozen).

Purchased item to make Beef Jerky. The thickness dial moves, causing the meat to get thicker which each pass. You can't use almost an inch of the end of the meat, as the pusher only goes so far and doesn't hold the meat. After a pass the meat will stick to the blade and go around - you have to turn the machine off to get the meat or you might get cut on the spinning blade. I can usually get 8 trays of sliced meat -- with this slicer not holding thickness, I barely get 6. It will take longer to cook which slows productivity. It looks like the thickness is thinner at the top of the blade and larger at the bottom. Also, when you push the meat the back plate moves slightly which helps each slice to get thicker. With this slicer you need a tool to remove the blade -- most have a turn type knob, this one does not.Read full review

I was very disappointed ...I needed to slice cheese and it made this horrible sound. My husband made sure everything was tight and good to go...needless to say, it still doesn't slice cheese and the cheese was cold not warm and mushy. I did slice onions, it worked perfect however, I have the large bullet magic that does all of that. I wanted it to slice cheese, I mean if it says it can slice meats, by the way it doesn't without major hesitation and the grinding noise off the blade.. so I am very disappointed, it was a waste of my money, when I was saving money buying cheese in a block I saved money and wasted it on this slicer. So, I will give it to someone who needs to slice a million onions..(crying)...I don't

The unit is good for the price the adjustable thickness guide is a little flimsy when you push the meat to the blade, the unit don't come with the plastic place holder as shown in the picture. it should be noted it's not a commercial unit and would not stand up to heavy use, but it's good for a non commercial user that uses it occasionally and should last for years.

First, as soon as you open the box, get the blade sharpened when you get the machine...otherwise you will have a bad time with it. Motor doesn't seem to have enough torque to glide thru roast beef...I'll see how this puppy perfoms over the next few weeks..
