I usually take barberries in normal food preparations, but they seem to have only about 6% berberine. Supplementing with purified berberine had positive impacts on my skin sensitivities, appetite, inflammation (water retention, etc.), sustaining weight loss, and it seems to have a positive mood impact as well. I hope the NIH will conduct thorough studies to ensure its safety. I took it only a few weeks and stopped, it seems these effects are long-lasting.I usually take barberries in normal food preparations, but they seem to have only about 6% berberine. I was a skeptic in trying this. But, the cost was cheap so I figured I would try it for my son and I. My son is type 1 diabetic and I am type 2. After taking this Berberine for about two weeks, (2 pills a day), I have noticed that my blood sugar does not spike as much as it would with the food I eat. My son however has noticed that if he eats a meal, his blood sugar spikes as it normally would but the Berberine brings it down about 40. HIs blood sugar has been lower during the day and he is taking fewer injections due to this.I was a skeptic in trying this. But, the cost was cheap so I figured I would try it for my son and I.
