What I like about Lidia Bastianich is that she is a real cook in the kitchen, along with being a master chef in her many restaurants. In person (I have interviewed her) she is an unassuming, practical and intelligent person. Her recipes in this book show it. PS - Try her olive appetizer. It's really good.

I like lydia's recipes, but there are not enough photos of the finished product. Everybody I showed the book too, said the same thing I said, aww not enough pictures. I watch Lydia's TV show because she is very particular with how she does things, but then she puts out a cookbook with no pictures.
