Started up & ran smooth on 2nd pull right out of the box. Pretty quiet, you can talk over it. Can carry it with one hand. Will run a small house A/C for 9hrs on a single tank. This is my second Champion generator (also own a 6500W LP/gas), they are the real deal.

I own a Honda E2000i that is supposed to be the gold standard. I liked it until I had to work on it. Too much plastic. Hard to get at. Finally got it working after much frustration. Honda motors ain't what it was when Soichiro Honda was running it. Not worth the $1000 bucks for the E2000i basic unit. Not worth the $1200 for the parallelable companion model. To buy what is needed to Parallel two Hondas , you shuck out close to 3 times what I would pay for two Champions. Sure its mostly plastic and made in China. So are the Hondas you buy today. The Honda has a one piece cylinder and head. Don't know how you refinish a scored cylinder. The champion uses a Yamaha engine with removable head. Not as crammed inside as the Honda. Should be easy to work on. I had some doubt about buying a refurbed unit. Mine was shiny as new. Only indication of previous use was gas odor in tank, and small amount of oil in crankcase. Put in oil, filled gas tank. Set choke and switches. Took off on second pull. Restarts on first pull after warmed up. My Honda was a hard starter. I ran a hedge trimmer and an electric lawn mower on it. It handled the load very nicely, even in econ mode. Seems to be a nice unit. I feel it is a real bargain. No more Honda anything, I am thinking of selling my Honda E2000i and getting another Champion to parallel with mine.Read full review

I have two Honda generators and considered another until I ran into this unit. I ordered one and was very impressed with the quality. It only required adding oil and fuel and pulling the cord once. It started on the first pull and purred like a 2000 watt kitten. I have it on my boat and it will run the AC unit on the boat. It will not run the AC unit on my travel trailer so don't expect it to run a normal RV AC unit. But, it runs everything else you might want. If you need more power, buy another and stay it on top. Wire the two together and you have almost 4000 watts. All of this for a price half of the Honda version. This is a well made machine, not a cheap Chinese motor that may run for a while and then die. I expect mine to run for a long time. The seller was excellent to deal with.Read full review

well here it is 2016 and i still make mistakes, been camping since the 60's when i had a pup tent and a fishin pole to catch dinner, over time i graduated to campers and trailers , with kids that turned into a pain in the but, so motels were in. now i am retired with my wife and bought a bitchen tougue pull trailer, stryker , king size bed oversize fridge , microwave, tv, etc. you get the picture. any ways the on board generator is just a little loud for my comfort level so i bought another one thats sorta loud too but it can be away from the trailer (oh, sorry, DMV calls it a coach) making it tolerable but we will eventually will have to stay in some sort of campground so that one just wont do. So i purchased the little 2000 watt champion because its pretty quiet, heck you can have a conversation next to it without raising your voice much, but me n my infinite wisdome plugged it into the "coach" and it wasnt cuttin it, you see there is not any way to isolate only what you want it to run , so untill i install some sort of switches on things its useless for that,BUT, it does work well for things outside , say coffee pot leaf blowers minor appliances that a power cord or two will feed, so if your looking for a nice quiet generator this is nice but any 2000 watt generator can be overwhelmed fairley quickley, so dont expect it to run a mega coach but it will do the small chores !Read full review
