As with most older Nikon from the 1970's to 1980's these are built like tanks. They are a bit heavy but are very very reliable. One in good condition that hasn't been subjected to a lot of moisture will work well with todays film. Sometimes the foam light seals go bad, or the meter can get a little out of adjustment, but mine have been great for years. Get one with the ever lasting great 50mm F1.2 lens and you have a camera that can put most digitals to shame. prices are also very nice, bodies go for 100-300 depending on shape so don't pay to much :) Also, their are still several places around the USA that can CLA the camera and get it tip top.

This camera reminds me of my Olympus OM-1 that I bought in Thailand in 1995. I look forward to getting the film developed that I have been shooting with it.

What can you say about a classic? Just love the images and the way the camera it handles. Possibly one of the best view finders ever made. The auto-winder sound is fantansitc.
