THE BATTLE FOR CHRISTMAS
This book is full of revelations about how Christmas came to be. The author has done a remarkable job of finding valuable documents and illustrations of this holiday. He casts a different outlook on such diverse issues as consumerism, class relations, popular myths and culture, the American family and the experiences felt by African Americans. This book tells you how Christmas was outlawed by the puritans and how it regained the right to be celebrated. A wonderful read for all. a great discussion book for families. lucky2b2008
