I really like the design of this siphon. It is simple and it stores easily in a small space. It works great! The hose is a little soft to my liking, thus the 4/5 rating. On the other hand, the price is reasonable considering that I've seen them at twice the price in outdoor stores. So now you can buy two and have one for fuel and one for water. Be sure to keep them separate!

I just received this and tried it out immediately. I noticed that the zip-ties that held it to the cardboard were kinking the thin-walled, too-flexible, cheap hose in 10 places along it's length. One of the kinks was right behind the brass "shaker" which made it as stiff as a shoelace. The instructions show holding it about 3"-5" behind the shaker so you don't have to dunk your hand into the gas/water/diesel fuel. With one of the many kinks in the hose being right at the shaker it makes it impossible to hold it anywhere but on the shaker which, of course, either plunges your hand into the liquid or makes it impossible to do any "shaking" inside of a gas can. If I held it 4" behind the shaker the brass shaker just flopped around without filling the tube at all. I've noticed that one reviewer cut off the too-flexible, cheap hose and replaced it with a much better quality clear hose. I guess that works for some who need it NOW and aren't wanting to send it back and then start looking for a quality shaker siphon hose but I believe that an item should work when new without having to replace part of it just to get it to do what it was supposed to do in the 1st place. It's made by IIT Corp. (Illinois Industrial Tool) which, of course, is the brand in the "use-it-once-then-toss-it bin at Menards, Home Depot & most hdwr stores.Read full review

While the "Jiggler" does siphon as advertised, the 6 foot length is not nearly long enough and the quality and thickness of the hose is of inferior quality. The jiggler mechanism, however, is of good construction and performs as designed. To improve mine, I replaced the thin, cheap, and collapsed hose that came with it for 12 feet of a thicker, yet flexible 5/8 clear plastic hose. Now I hàve a versatile and useful siphon hose that WORKS!

bought it to replace one purchased from another vendor. this one was very thin walled tubing compared to the original that had a wall thickness two times sturdier. description should state the tubing thickness.

I use shake syphons a lot and this one is the worst. A huge waste of money. The plastic tube is cheap and folds over on itself. No stiffness to allow you to shake it. The suction action actually shuts the tube off and won't allow gas to flow hardly at all.
