This is my second Leek. My first was the stainless handle with the Sandvik steel. It has been the best carry knife I've had to date, bar none. I couldn't resist the temptation to get one with a higher grade steel, so I bought the carbon fiber one with CPM154 steel. To me, this combination takes the Leek to a different level. Feels lighter in weight (haven't weighed them yet), with a liner lock instead of the frame lock of the stainless one. The assisted opening is noticeably smoother on this one, making it very close to an "instantly open" blade. Very fast. Look up "scary sharp" in the dictionary, and you'll find this Leek. It was literally shaving sharp right out of the box, which I would expect with a knife of this quality, but still was pleasantly surprised to find. I was concerned that the carbon fiber scales would be too slick, but I actually get a better grip for operating the flicker with this one, compared to the stainless one. It's not coarse, or rough, by any stretch of the imagination, but there is a very, very slight texture to it, that gives just enough grip to avoid any slipping when opening. I've only had it a couple of days, but I'm totally pleased with it. I already know how well a Leek knife performs, and this one is quite a step up from my previous one, so it is simply much more of a very good thing. I strongly recommend it without any reservation.Read full review

Handsome (carbon fiber handle), well made, no wobbles. Liner lock is secure. Flipper/spring assist open is very fast. Pocket clip can be reversed. Safety is a rod that slides to cover blade tip. Safety design might be suspect but works fine in as-received condition. Doesn't open easy using thumb stud (which is really a blade stop against the handle when opened) but flipper latch works great.

I am a devout knifeaholic with dozens of premium knives but this new carbon fiber LEEK is a standout in every way. Beautiful premium cf, quality blade steel and superior ergonomics. If kershaw ever offers a leek cf with a zdp 189 blade, I would rate that version over the great ZT0450CFZDP, a top EDC. The carbon fiber on the leek cf is perfect: beautiful sheen with just the right amount of texture to provide a good grip; the ZT 0450cf is a beautiful knife but the carbon fiber is too smooth and compromises grip for aesthetics. The leek handle form factor is hard to beat IMO; it has no hot spots and provides a comfortable grip with carbon fiber on both sides; not just one. I may take the zdp 189 blade from my 06 leek ttzdp and move it to the leek cf. I would definitely rate this knife above the much more expensive ZT 0450cfzdp with this blade change. THE LEEK CF IS A SLEEPER; GREAT PERFORMANCE AND VALUE.Read full review

I had a standard Leek for 6 years and then left it on the counter at the Post Office recently :( so I decided to treat myself to bit of an upgrade with the cf and better steel. I also bought a Kershaw Dividend with the M390 steel which is totally awesome but the carbon fiber Leek is less bulky for everyday pocket carry and the action is so crazy smooth, easy, and fast. The Dividend requires about 2-3 times the finger pressure to release the blade. My old Leek had the same action but in the carbon fiber model it just seems to pop more. The blade came sharp but not as sharp as expected. With some touch up it's now as sharp as the factory edge on my M390 blade Dividend.

This is a small and very fast opening attractive knife. I had a larger version of this knife by Ken Onion. It had rounded carbon fiber scales, not flat ones, and was wonderful until it fell in the ocean, crabbing, ten years ago. But to revive great memories of Ken Onion flippers, I just had to have it. It did not disappoint. If one of you creative people can put a video of the speed which this knife opens, many more would be sold. Also, bought a deep cover clip to complete this knife. DaveHW
