Ive been using this controller exclusively with my switch for almost a month now, and to say the truth, I love it. Its well built, it doesn't feel flimsy, plus its about the right size as an actual SNES controller (its a bit thicker, and a tad heftier on account of the added components - analogs, vibration, motion controls, bluetooth, extra buttons), but it does the job well. This controller always syncs right up with my switch, and has a home button as well as a working capture button. However, it cannot wake the console up. Im not sure if this is due to the fact that its a third party device, or if there is some missing update, but i think thats the only flaw. Now, mind you, im not a hard core gamer and I bought this because I enjoy retro gaming, and love the way it looks (plus the cheaper price point helped!). The battery has excellent life; I think it took around a week of playing for it to finally give out after the original charge I gave it. It has some cons tho, the smaller size will cramp your hands after extended play (or at least they do mine), but by extended i mean over 3 hours, which is not usual for me. The motion controls seem on point, i tested them mainly on Zelda BOTW, and the analogs are precise enough, the vibration is NOT HD rumble. Its a regular vibration like you would find on an xbox or playstation controller, but thats fine by me. It also does NOT have NFC, but really if you have a switch, the joycons already have NFC so this shouldnt be a real sticking point. It includes a USB-C to A charge cable thats rated USB 2.0. I would not recommend using it to charge your switch or to hook up your switch to your PC (as the switch wont recognize the cable properly), I left mine hooked up to my dock and use it strictly for charging the controller as it was intended. I think the biggest pro for me on this controller is its size. It makes it very portable, and I can easily pop it into one of the pockets in my backpack with no bulging issues. It wont fit in my switch carry case, but i think thats also due to the fact that my carry case is quite compact (it barely fits the wrist straps and a USB-C cable. All in all, I do highly recommend this controller. It is specially good for retro gaming, but will play well with most game types, and its much cheaper than the Switch Pro controller.Read full review

Much more comfortable than the joycons for people with bigger hands. The grips are big, the buttons are big, the D-pad is big; the controller is about the size of an xbox one controller. One issue I've experienced is connecting to the Switch; sometimes it works, sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes of fiddling. Aside from that, once the controller connects it is good to go for hours. The battery life is excellent (I've had the controller for about two months and only had to charge it once). The software package from 8bit-do is also a huge plus, along with the turbo feature. Many claim this controller is better than the official Nintendo Pro controller. I've never tried the Nintendo Pro controller, but I probably never will because this 8bit-do is all I need.

I recommend this controller for those with PC and/or Switch. Works flawlessly across platforms. Very compact design and very good button pressing. It’s rechargeable via USB-C so you know it’s future-proof.

If you want the best of both worlds (having a classic controller feel & having analog sticks and all the functions of a switch pro controller this is a really great one. I am very pleased with the quality. The analog sticks feel great, the buttons have good response. They also somehow crammed all the extra switch functions like home button, capture button and extra triggers without sacrificing that old SNES controller feeling. It is on par if not better than actual licensed Nintendo controllers.

I've had my eye on the SN30 Pro for long time.. I've done all the research, watched/read countless reviews and finally decided to give it a go... After spending the entire day playing Hollow Knight I can say one thing for sure.. This controller is the friggin BOMB... I've been using the Nintendo Pro controller since I bought my Switch, it's a great controller, but the position of the D-pad and just the overall feel of it has always seemed off to me.. The SN30 Pro perfectly corrects that issue.. The D-pad feels amazing, the rest of the buttons are nice and clicky and the analog sticks (not that they will be used often!) feel incredible! everything about this controller rocks and I'm very happy with my decision to purchase it. I'm still going to be using my Pro controller for games like BOTW and Mario but for the 2d side-scrolling platforming metroidvanias.... SN30 Pro all day long for sure!!! If you take your 2d gaming seriously like I do then do yourself a favor and get this controller!!!!Read full review
