Wow, time really treats some subjects kindly. I always enjoyed Skynard on the radio but never sought them out on record. At the time, I was probably into the rock and funk fusion of the day such as Santana, Tower of Power as well as Steely Dan and all the other eclectic choices the early Seventies offered. After recently viewing a documentary on Southern Rock, I realized how many great songs LS had and had to have this in my collection. Plus, there is probably no finer guitar playing than Ed King's on the classic Sweet Home Alabama. The lyrics are excellent, too.
This album is the original members of the all time great Lynyrd Skynyrd. This album has got all the good ones that we know and love, Sweet Home Alabama, Simple Man, Call Me The Breeze, Give Me Back My Bullets, those are my favorites, and of course the last one on the album, the live version of Free Bird is absolutely great. Turn it up as high as your speakers will go, Super!!!
This is an aswome cd, I strongley advise you to buy it, if your looking for a Lynrd Skynrd greatest hits cd. Lynrd Skynrd's sound is diffenent from anything else ever made. I would suggest that you a couple of short samples online if you are not familiar with their style. Since ebay does not have a genre that fits them very well. If you liked what you've heard from them, then you'll love this cd.
I love this cd. I only wish it had Tuesdays gone. I have 7 lynyrd skynyed cd's, and none have it.
