Was looking for an ultrabook in the 13" class. Yes, I know this has a 14" screen, but it's about the same size and weight as a 13" Mac Air. The way they did this is by shrinking the bezel on the sides. It still has a top-mounted webcam which I like (and dislike being moved to the bottom, as in the XPS 13) but the bezels are very narrow in general. For the cost, this machine has insane specs: 8th generation quad core i7, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB NVME SSD, 1080p IPS screen and backlit keyboard with precision trackpad. The version I had also came with a discrete MX150 GPU which is comparable in performance to the older GTX 860M graphics (I know as I also have a machine with one of those). The machine has good ports- two USB 3, USB 3.1 (no thunderbolt), full size SD, micro HDMI. The whole thing comes in a very nice aluminum chassis that is thin and light. The battery life is great, and it charges really fast (75% in an hour). Downsides? No touch screen or RGB lighting for the keyboard, if you're into that. The keyboard backlight is also a bit uneven, not individually lit keys. Also, the fans do run all the time, though they seem to do a good job and are not terribly loud unless under load. The specs of the laptop are GREAT. It actually runs very fast and boots within 5 seconds with the fingerprint reader. The biggest CON is that it makes electrical noise known as "coil whine". If you don't really pay attention to background noise you may not even notice it. I work in a quiet environment so even at idle it sits there and is buzzing, crackling, and humming quietly to itself like crazy. For the price of this laptop the only thing I should hear is the occasional fan engaging. If you're sensitive to irritating sounds this could be a major issue for you.
