The Original Rider Waite Deck, as of writing this has become my favorite of all the RWS Tarot card decks! Its coloring is absolutely charming in an old world sort of way. The overall tone seems brownish compared to the standard RWS. Seeing as to many the coloring would be more appropriate in this version, it's a bit hard to understand why it isn't the most popular of all the RWS decks. I believe it's because some claim that the original Colman Smith line drawings were changed somewhat in this one, some Tarot users claim that there are subtlties missing. That may be so, however they haven't deviated in a way that affects my own expectations and usage of this deck any. Absolutely lovely!
I really love this deck. The images are very meaningful and its pretty easy to tell just by glance the meaning behind the cards. The images are old so the quality isn't super amazing. The cards, however, are very nice. Thick paper but easy to shuffle and deal. My one complaint is the little booklet that comes with it. It's very small and the information is all jammed up. This is easily remedied by little bookmarking flags for quick reference. All in all, if you're a tarot lover and you don't have this deck, you should consider it for sure.
I like this edition of the Rider Waite as there are so few reproductions of the Pam B on the market. The rose backs are a nice change from the US Games plaid backs. I like the pale green and deeper reds in the coloration of this deck.

Everyone should own this deck and branch out afterwards. This particular edition is a nice keepsake as well.
