We have had this skimmer a little while now and one we were able to "break it in" it has worked as needed. Good price, good quality, and works as needed. It is sensitive to the water level. Make sure you keep your water level consistent or the cup will fill with water.

I messed with this skimmer for about one month. Very bad design in my opinion that does not always get air into the chamber so the skimmer requires almost a constant daily adjustment. After a few weeks of use I could no longer get it to throw air bubbles into the chamber unless the powerhead was set to nearly full blast. So now the only time I can get any air into the chamber there is entirely too much flow which instantly overflows the collection cup with air bubbles. Do yourself a favor and put the $27 towards a good skimmer that uses a needle wheel design to make consistent air bubbles. It's not the end of the world because it wasn't very expensive, I knew it was a gamble upon purchase. On the flip side the powerhead does work well. I have 3 years of reef keeping experience.

This thing never worked very well. Suction cups struggled to keep the unit at the right height. It kept sliding down, filling with water and releasing anything that was skimmed (which was little to nothing). I wish I had bought it on amazon so i could return it. I guess I have a nice powerhead if i want to convert my aquarium into a jacuzzi.

It won't stay together long enough to get it to work properly, It also floats and doesn't sit straight in the water, the pump won't stay on the skimmer. All in all I think it is a terrible product. I have a hob reef octopus that is rated for 75 t0 100 gal and it is much larger than this one and pumps more water, don't see how this could be rated for 150 gal but I guess you can rate anything to whatever you want to if that is what it takes to sell it.

You spend a crap load of time trying to get it adjusted just for it to quit again. Save your money and get a good brand. I threw mine away after two weeks of headaches. The power head is decent though. When it came with a tab broke off on the top I should of known this was a waste of time and money.
