Got this unit to supplement the central a/c and it does exactly as advertised and what i wanted. Super easy to install, works perfect for single room.

I was warned that this type of unit would be very loud, and the warnings were correct. But my main complaint is that the motor sound varies back and forth between loud and extremely loud, enough to wake you up when it changes during the night. It does this even when I'm trying to run the unit just on the lower fan setting. However, it does cool the bedroom very well, and it was fairly easy to install the window vent system.

Purchased Refurbished A/C Unit. It works wonderfully, cools a 200 ft2 bedroom from 85 to 78 in about 40 minutes. The humidity does not drop very far, not like central A/C. When temperature is met, the fan continues to run. The unit is noisy in fan only mode and worse when both the fan and compressor are running. The specification rates the noise level of 54 db. I checked with an app and sure enough the level was 54 db, on spec. Unfortunately, for me 54 db is too loud for sleeping. Therefore, I over cool the room and turn it off over night. Only have used the unit for a couple of weeks, but it seems okay.

I bought this and put it in our storage shed. We are in it often, and in this Texas heat, after 10 mins we were done. With this portable air conditioner, and insulation board on the walls and ceiling, it is soooo much better in there. We can stay in the shed how ever long we want to now, going through boxes or working on the lawnmower. Don't get me wrong here...... it's NOT keeping it nice and cold like your house would be. Not enough insulation for that.... but its nice enough where we aren't sweating to death. We love it! Seems like it'd work REAL good in the house. Highly recommend it.
