This canister worked great for 6 months, you have to stay on top of the maintenance any debris/buildup in the impeller house will cause work poorly or make noise or not work it all! It says is rated for 525 GPH but I wouldn't use it on anything larger than a 50 gallon. Once media is added the flow rate reduces a about 170gph. Don't think you'll support your 125 or 150 gallon tank with this filter. The flow rate is just not there. After 6 months the canister won't pump water anymore, I had clean the impeller + the housing, the media, I made sure the hoses are not clogged, the motor spins the impeller very weakly causing water not being pumped via the out hose, also the cover/head it gets hot. I paid $69.95, it was good at that price now they want $100, no worth it stay away! One more thing I noticed is the flow from the motor is so weak when it worked it only utilizes the top 3 stages/baskets, every time I cleaned it there was no bacteria in bottom 2 baskets, this tells me that the motor doesn't have enough power to spin the impeller fast and consistently. Cheaply made, very cheap made.Read full review

Read the dimensions of the filter. Bigger filter = more media. This filter has 5 trays but is only 9"x9" square. Get a big Sunsun for the same price.

Mostly love it and cleans well. Only problem we have is the hoses are stiff so hard to get the return right.

This filter did not have the power that was described. After one week the water was getting murky. I had to put back to work immediately my old filter.
