    A Great Camera for Reusing Old Lenses!

    I purchased a G1 body to use with my extensive collection of Konica AR-mount lenses. This means getting an adapter ring that goes from Konica to M4/3. Only one of these is needed. The camera handles well and takes nice pictures. Since I am using old lenses, I am limited to Manual and Apeture Priority exposure modes. Fewer than 40% of the advanced features work, but this is still an improvement over my old film 35mm approach. The built in flash is very basic. I will continue to use my old Sunpak mountable flash. The camera does HD video, also, but this is not something I will use. I'm most interested in getting really good stills. I have shot 100 images so far, and I like what I see. I like being able to control the shutter speed. I cannot set this directly with my current setup, but I ...

    Dear Sir/madame In april 22 i was ordered a camera Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 Black DSLR Camera & 2 Lens 16 GB. But i realised that i was ordered the wrong color. I want to ask if it's possible can you change the camera color with the blue one. Yesterday i was wrote to an e-mail to the adress dave@ibuyplasma.com but i cannot receive any response.     Lumix G1 The Universal System Camera

    The Lumix G1 and its upgrades is accomodates all of my lenses which Rollei Carl Zeiss, Rollei Schnieder, Nikon AF lenses and Russian lenses with M39 and Contax II mounts through the use of adaptor. I had my doubts about this Lumix G1, but they are gone now. Beautiful images with all types of lens. The kits with a 14-45mm lens is a powerful combination for most applications. With a simple 2x doubler lens attached to the front the 14-45mm lens becomes a decent macro lens. The camera is ergonomically perfect, especially for a large handed fellow like myself. This is no toy of a camera, it competes well with both my Nikon system and my Hasselblad. The 12.1 megapixel sensor allows for images that are amazingly sharp and the metering works well in dim situations and with other ...

    Excellent DSLR like camera, small and fast

    I have owned and used the G1 for about three months now and liked it so much I ordered the new, more expensive Panasonic GH2. Some people believe that Panasonic has surpassed the traditional camera manufactures such as Canon and Nikon - and that they GET what photographers want and need. Time will tell! For me Panasonic and mirrorless cameras represent the future. Focus is faster than the entry level Canon DSLR and seems more accurate. The camera feels light which might give some the impression that it is fragile; but it is not. It is robust and easy to grip and carry BECAUSE of its light weight. I recommend the G1 as a good entry point into the micro four thirds world.

    G-1 Some Unique Attributes

    I like on the G-1: Brighter viewfinder in lower light situations than SLR optical view. When testing lenses, no mirror slap vibration issues as with SLRs. The incredible range of lenses usable with the variety of available adapters. Articulating monitor screen. Light,easy on the neck, in all day use. Love it more than SLRs and have acquired several bodies. Could be better: Small buttons around "enter" button fussy to navigate with big fingers when reviewing and deleting photos, while using the viewfinder (where you can't see buttons and finger). A condition of almost uselessness: I used on the G-1 a manual focus lens of effective focal length 800mm and maximum aperture f/8 for a night football game. The viewfinder image showed mostly blurs, due to slow frame rate apparently; almost ...
