Does a decent job if your are looking for easy sharpness.
Some reviews said sharp like new, I found that it is pretty good but does not equal hand honing japanese knives. But if you are not used to sharp sharp it is not bad. For the price, a good 4 stars. If you use a smooth steel after this sharpener, it is pretty good.

Never did I find a better portable blade sharpener than this one. Hair, throat or bone, what ever dulled your blade you can quickly resume your duties with a sharp blade using kitchen aid.

Takes a little repetitive effort but sharpener is sturdy and stays stable on table while sharpening, Good instructions come with the sharpener. Seems to be a good value for price paid; this is the first sharpener I have purchased and agree with the reviews I read that it is a quality tool.
