I purchased the LTO as primarily a tracking device. As mentioned in numerous places the range is somewhat limited. For tracking purposes it is a must have and has proved its worth. I have an ATN thermo scope on one of my 6.8 hog rigs and decided to use the LTO as a spotter rather than shouldering the rig to scan for targets. The LTO on green has more than satisfied my needs. It is efficient enough to detect the heat signature and movement. I then shoulder the rig and squeeze one off. Buy it! You won't be sorry.

I have several thermal devices this one by far is probably the least desirable one to carry for me. Of course I don't expect it to perform like a $3,000 unit, so let's just compare it to a $300 unit. In fact let's compare it to the Seek. Even though this is a 30 Hz the shutter operates in much longer intervals, so compared to the Seek it saturates much faster. Not as clear either. Believe it or not the nine Hertz seek unit performed better. This has absolutely no temperature readout which would actually help it, it doesn't take pictures, the front is threaded but of course the manufacturer had no clue of what the size was I'm sure you could screw on a protection window but you'll have to search for one that will fit, it will see through geranium so you can get an optical window for the front to protect the front lens. It is not recoil rated most likely due to the shutter as being the weak link, technical support had no clue if it was a lepton core I mean heck you should know what you're selling. Outdoors is practically worthless yeah I guess you could see a deer you're not going to make out any animal other than the fact that it has a thermal signature but so does a lot of other things. I really hated to write such a bad review on it but comparing it to something cheaper that performed a heck of a lot better in this price range come on value-wise I would pay 200 for it nothing more, give it another year and that's what it'll be priced at.Read full review

This little thermal tracker is about the size of a tactical flashlight. Small but robust. The screen/image is clear, and detects even a small amount of heat. As specified, the imager zooms up to 6x, though the image become somewhat grainy with each increase in magnification over 3. I am not disappointed in this imager, it is a great bargain for hunters, security and those who want a thermal imager that wont break the bank.

The item is very well priced. Most are at least $50 more. The LTO Tracker is very impressive for a lower priced IR unit. I am waiting for hunting season this fall to give it a full workout. I would recommend this unit to folks that are looking for a good IR unit at a reasonable price. The only bad thing is a holder of some sort doesn't come with it. It cycles thru all color pallets easily and picks up even small areas of heat difference.

This product is an excellent value for what it can deliver. It produces vivid thermal images for anything that retains heat. This is its value and its down size. One needs to use the product and learn to visualize the difference between ground clutter and the animal being sought. That takes a few trials to accomplish. Effectiveness limited to 75-100 yrds distance secondary to the amount of ground clutter. Open terrain greater distances of view can be expected.
