I purchased this soil blocker to use with my 3/4 inch soil blocker as well as for starting larger seeds. It will eliminate the need for the plastic packs I have used in the past.

I'm excited, can't wait to put it to use.
It is the end of gardening season, and I'm busy mulching, rather than planting. So, I haven't actually used my new acquisition yet. It does seem to be well made, and the discounted price was great. I'm looking forward to February, when I'll be starting the new garden. It's going to be a big season, with about 1000 berry bushes of various types being planted, along with all the regular gardening. Need to experiment first...
My wife made the first blocks with a custom soil mix (never call it DIRT), and they were to firm. Seeds didn't germinate because of the tight soil compaction. She did a little modification with soil mix and compressing pressure, and things are doing much better.
