Great title. Where the story happens.
I read anything that is written by Debbie Macomber. She is an awesome writer. This was a book I really looked forward to reading. This was a continuing story of the small town of Buffalo Valley, a town where much has taken place in the last few years. I've read all those books and was looking forward to visiting with a few old friends. This book wasn't the best and we really didn't visit old friends. We only made a few more. This is a story of Hassie and her dead son, Vaughn. Vaughn was killed in Vietman. He was engaged to Barbara. After Vaughn passed she married his best friend and they has a baby boy. They named their son after Hassie's son. Now, thirty three years later Vaughn decides to visit Hassie for the first time. He does this while on assignment from Value-X. This is a major ... This is a major retailer looking to build in Buffalo Valley. While he is there, he discovers that there is more to small town living than meets the eye. He learn that community and the love of are what makes a small town wonderful. He also learns that the town wants to remain how they are. That they cherish the locally owned stories and have pride in their community. If a company like Value-X would move into town, they would lose those businesses. The women of the town come together and buy the property that Value-X was interested in and now they can't build. Awesome. In the meantime, Carrie, she works in the pharmancy with Hassie is falling in love with Vaughn. He knows he must tell her he works for Value-X but is afraid that when he does, she will be mad. She is and that is to be expected. He also neglected to tell he that he was involved with a woman from Seattle who got him the job with Value-X. When she finds out, she is livid. Vaughn explains that he broke up with her and that he resigned from Value-X. Carrie still has her doubts but they end up announcing their engagement. In my opinion, the best part of the book is when we learn of Hassie's son, Vaughn. This is so emotional. It is also so sad when we learn that Hassie lost her husband one year after her son. She thinks he died of a broken heart. I understand the emotion of this. I lost my mom when I was 13 and I felt lost. I still had my dad but he passed away almost 3 years after her. He was never the same once my mom was gone. i think he died of a broken heart. My parents were together for 40 years. I was a surprise in their later years. When my dad I lost my whole world. I was devasted and can understand the emotion Debbie tries to promote in her book. It made me remember the people my parents were. Eventhough it's been more than 20 years, I still miss them. I regret that my children will only know their grandparents from what I tell them. My parents would have loved them. If I can be half the parent they were to me, I feel I did a great job. Overall, this book wasn't what I expected but I'm sure you'll enjoy reading this one. I would have liked to see a little more of our old friends brought into the story. Anyway, take a chance and read it. It was nice to hear about Hassie's son, Vaughn.

Hard to Find Book by Debbie Macomber
I love Debbie Macomber stories and was immediately drawn to the Dakota series. I needed Buffalo Valley to finish the series and it was very good reading! I just wish it wasn't so hard to find and so expensive! Luckily, I found one very reasonable and in great shape. I truly hope that other books I need to finish series aren't so hard to get and expensive.
