    Arrived as Expected

Good place to start for beginners in guitar! Update to review.....my cd was missing, just got started reading the book, didn’t think I would need the cd but already on page 3 it says “listen to the cd” & lists several reason why listening to the cd is really important. Hopefully I can master without the cd or maybe find the cd on You Tube.

  • Guitar for Dummies by Jon Chappell, Mark Phillips

I like this book because it is so simple and easy to understand. I bought it to help me in guitar instruction with my students. Not a guitarist by nature, but with a big music background,I not only wanted guitar questions answered for myself, but also for my students. It is very helpful in understanding basic information concerning the guitar--strumming, rifs, chording, tuning, restringing--basically a beginners guide to understanding and using the guitar.

  • Great guide to learning guitar!

Guitar For Dummies delivers everything the beginning to intermediate guitarist needs. The information has been carefully crafted so that you can find exactly what you want to know about the guitar. Guitar For Dummies also covers the following topics and more: Hand position and posture Basic major and minor chords Adding spice with basic 7th chords and barre chords Playing melodies in position and in double-stops Different styles including rock, blues, ...

  • Need more hands- less reading !

The book is about an inch thick and it's a lot of reading of stuff. So far I m not getting what I thought I would. I should be getting back to playing by now.
