The first thing did is to see if the highlighters bleed through bible paper. They do not which is a good thing. However, since this is the first time I have used these type of highlighter gels, I had a little trouble covering the bible text. The tips of these are blunt instead of the sharp tip of the ink type highlighters. At any rate, I will get used to them, really like the price.

Good w/some considerations
I used to use a Stabilio pencil for Bible marking, but when it was used up, they didn't make them any more. This started a search for a marker that wouldn't show through, was a good size for marking and was easy to use. I found the Thornton gel pens recently and overall am pleased. They gave a nice size line, not too big, not too small. The gel goes on smoothly and evenly, It just glides, no effort or drag as you mark. For the most part it doesn't show through, but perhaps depending on how much you use, it could show through a little. So far, for whatever reason, only one verse that I've marked has shown through, which is a bit irritating, and I'm not sure if I pressed harder or what. The only other issue I have is that the cap will not fit on top of the pen, so you have to lay it ... Not for books and especially not for bibles or other thin pages.
While it does highlight, it does not dry well and is sort of sticky and grabs the next page. I am giving the package to my grade school as they can probably use it for things other than books
