Whole House Surge Protection Device. I had these on my outside AC units, not the whole house, now I do! just one little lightning strike sure can do a lot of damage, This is my second time in 13 years of spending months tracking down all the damaged electronics blown away. Just a small note, this small strike not only ran into my house but the house next doors, what I ended up this time of damages is as follows, Lawn sprinkler controls (again), main control board in house furnace, wall thermostat for the furnace, 2 breakers, all of the AT&T equipment for TV and internet, all I'm saying a small price to pay to save a lot of hair pulling
