It's a handy tool for the experienced DIY'er. Putting it together was a bit a challenge as the instructions were vague. If the job requires sheetrock to be installed on the ceiling and you do not want to hire a crew, then buy this tool. These are easy to sell after you're done with it. It's not as useful for hanging drywall on the walls since it doesn't tilt as much as you need it too. On the unit I bought, there was a small piece of metal that broke off the yoke on the 2nd day I used it. Unfortunately this piece of metal locks the legs in place when you're moving the tool closer to the area you want to hang drywall. Without this, the legs are at risk of not maintaining their proper angles and the unit could tip over if I don't pay attention to it.

Instructions are miniscule printed diagrams that are difficult to follow. Cable attachment end is dangerous, I do not recommend using the supplied one. The second time I lifted a 4X8 drywall panel, the cable came out of the end and the whole panel and top dropped. Yes, on me. Yes, it was correctly assembled. Other than that, it is an okay product, and if you do the cable end differently (with a cable clamp instead of the bad one supplied) it works pretty well.

Before purchasing this panel lift I compared it with many others both here on eBay and from other sources. The impression that I got from doing so was that the panel lift was assembled and shipped in components the same way you would break it down to load into your vehicle to be set up on or removed from a jobsite. This however is NOT the case the panel lift I received was 100% unassembled and very difficult to assemble with the included broken English instructions as well as extreme fine print. Be aware that I am very adept at putting things together and it still took me about 3hrs! After assembly I found that there were two small but distinct parts missing. I was able to manufacture the parts and get the panel lift working as it should. I would have no trouble rating this item 5 stars but have lowered it to 3 because of the considerable time and difficulty of assembly.Read full review

Worked great on my 10 ft ceiling. Lifted 12 ft long 5/8 thick drywall. Easy to use. Directions for assembly weren't real good, it was printed small. Quality is great for smaller/homeowner jobs, the cable system for lifting isn't real smooth if a contractor using every day.

The hoist works great after you put it together but the instructions it comes with are extremely vague and hard to read. Took about 2 hours to get it together, and did have to get a couple extra pieces from my garage (nuts and pins)
