    Excellent recorder!

    I liked very much this recorder. Beside good programming, this version (compared with later version Olympus 620) have better sound. Why it is so, I can only guess. Probably in the later version, for the sake of much longer battery life, the speaker receive less energy for his work. Olympus 520 do not have some other complications, as later version of Olympus, like non standard battery. This one demand only two AAA battery. And, finally, my Olympus that is of second hand recorder, came in practically perfect state.

    Has all features that I need, including the programmable timer function.

    I intend to use these for doing nature recordings but will house them in water proof containers thus don't care about the missing back cover. I have used the DM420 for the same use and it works so I expect the DM520 to as good.
