    1st and best Chicago album

I believe my brother actually had this on reel to reel. Beginnings and Does anyone know what Time It Is, are the best Robert Lamm penned songs ever (along with Color My World but not on this one). Must get this in your collection if you don't have it.

  • Chicago At Their Raw and Hungry Best

This isn't much to be said that hasn't already been said about this classic and landmark album from Chicago. This 1969 debut is simply flawless and stunning! The band plays with a hunger and determination that diminished a little over time. For me, what makes this album stand out is the incredible horn lines, Danny Seraphine Buddy Rich inspired drumming, and Terry Kath's guitar work. Terry and the band never rock as hard as on this album (with the exception being a few tracks on the underrated Chicago VIII). A definite must have for any music fan!

  • GREAT MUSIC !!!!!!!!!!!

This is Chicago's first album! Released in 1969. This remastered edition released by Rhino Records is awesome! It has all 12 songs digitally remastered: 1. Introduction 2. Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is? 3. Beginnings 4. Questions 67 & 68 5. Listen 6. Poem 58 7. Free Form Guitar 8. South California Purples 9. I'm A Man 10. Prolouge, August 29, 1968 11. Someday (August 29, 1968) 12. Liberation Over 70 minutes of music! If you're a big Chicago fan, you'll love it!

  • Tremendous Album and sounds very good!

The remastering on this album is very good, I'd give it about an 8 of 10. The musicianship, compositions and wonderful horn playing by Chicago are very talented and make the music stand out. There are a couple "tougher" rock songs which was how it was back in the late 60's. #1 song "Introduction" is a great multi-layered song, many other good ones. This is Chicago's first album and some say their best.

  • Brilliant Debut Album

50 years on and Chicago's debut album still sounds fresh. Ground-breaking jazz-rock before there was such a term. A confluence of some of the finest young musicians, and writers at the right place and time. Both a tight horn section and rhythm section. And the late Terry Kath, an under-appreciated guitarist, brilliant and well ahead of his time.
