An awesome film!! Anyone with any interest in World War One needs to see "They Shall Not Grow Old"; they will be blown-away by what they view. Archival footage taken with hand-cranked cameras over 100 years ago has been painstakingly transformed and colorized into a 99 minute film that looks as if it was shot yesterday. This video shows what life and death was like during the "war to end all wars". The dazzling footage is voiced-over by actual WWI veterans (recorded in the 1960s) describing what occurred in first-person accounts. This monumental masterpiece deserves any and all awards there are and needs to be seen to be believed. Peter Jackson and his extremely talented crew should be congratulated. An awesome film!! The technology on display in this documentary is cutting edge! It takes old, almost unwatchable footage from WWI, you know the the kind of film I'm talking about, deteriorated and moving at twice the speed, and transforms it into footage that looks like it was filmed yesterday. Absolutely amazing! If you love history, you will love this DVD!
