Great content. Full of hands on activities.
I'm using this with a homeschool co-op of 7th 8th, and 9th graders. I love it and the students really like it. Like Apologia's other texts, it's very well organized, the explanations are clear and relevant, the experiments are fun to do (and most have easily attained supplies) and it's easy to follow. We used Apologia's General Sciences with my 7th grader a few years ago and he really liked it. He's not a huge science fan, but he loved that it was easy to follow and well organized so that he knew what it took to master the material. He gained a sense of confidence in his ability to take in and master new information. As a teacher and mom, I feel like my students are getting very solid content that challenges them and keeps them engaged. Just yesterday, I had a mom of one of the students ... Apologia Physical Science 2nd Edition
The Apologia Physical Science curriculum was all that I needed to teach my son this year. It is the second edition but still has great content for teaching physical science at a lower price point.

Good self study book but needs student book to accompany it.
Book was purchased as part of a cooperative class. I have several books in the Apologia series, and for my daughter, it is just too wordy. More pictures/diagrams would be better. Ideally for a self study program with help on experiments, the student guide is excellent and is an important component to successful study of physical science. I am also using this with another student who simply doesn't like to read and would prefer an electronic education! I realize a digital version is available, but reliance on digital products for learning is experimental at best. On the other hand, my son read this book as part of a coop class and is now graduating with honors in Physics, heading for grad school. The creationist viewpoint is well appreciated, but could go into more depth ... Book was purchased as part of a cooperative class.
