I know I bought something used, I can deal with the fact that the comic could have some signs of wear, but, come on...A simple plastic bag? not a piece of cardboard to even try to protect the book. Travelled almost 7.600 Km. in a simple thin plastic bag. It came banged up good. Corners bended and more signs of wear than originally mentioned, the cover opens and keeps itself open maybe because was bended . At least it's in my hands, but not really happy about how you deal with shipments.

One of the best graphic novels ever.

By the time this book was published (as a limited series in 12 issues, all of which I still own), I had basically lost interest in comics. I used to work in the field, but for various reasons I left it behind. I hadn't read any for years, when a friend of mine (deceased now, alas) turned me on to WATCHMEN. I was hooked from the first page. I read the original books so many times that they had begun to come apart, so I bagged 'em and put them in storage. I kept meaning to buy a copy of the graphic novel, but never got around to it. Now, I have. This is a brilliant piece of work, at once subversive and richly rewarding. Moore's writing and Gibbons's art are perfect for it. There are many "in jokes' to keep the fan-boys (and girls) amused, but overall, this really IS "the CITZEN KANE of ...

  • More than just a comic book

This graphic novel was amazing from beginning to end. The artwork and writing really give you an in depth understanding of the characters' emotions and the overall ominous atmosphere. Each panel has enough in it to hold its own story.

  • What 'Watchmen' can teach us...

I have spent my life up 'til now reading comics and graphic novels purely for their entertainment value. Silly me. Had I paid more attention to the underlying messages contained within the first time I read this graphic novel, I wouldn't be having to confess to my sin of 'reading solely for entertainment'. Having said that, I must also confess that I'm hooked on this genre of literature. 'Watchmen' is a prime example of literate story-telling combined with the kind of social commentary that is necessary in the world we live in...and perhaps even more to the point these days. And when you add in the finely illustrated content you have a very captivating, educating, and potent form of entertainment. I highly recommend this book. BlueRick ...at ...

  • Watchmen is thrilling, engaging, and genuine. A masterpiece of comics *****

Watchmen is a fascinating read that is shrouded in darkness and mystery. Moore does a great job illuminating the shadows and exposing a sinful humanity. This graphic novel is certainly not recommended for anybody under the age of 17 in my opinion. The novel uses violence and graphic language as a key component in forcing the reader to pose rhetorical questions about themselves and life in general. If you are into comic books, this is a MUST. Watchmen provides not only an entertaining and visually engaging plot, but also a perception of society that induces a higher level of critical thinking. Five Stars! *****

  • very compelling.

hold in your hands an action-packed graphic novel narrated by a jaded night owl. incredible art work, a very compelling read. i didn’t grow up with comics, but this book is picked up and held frequently.
