    Fortress Chess Board

    It’s looks grabbed me right off the bat! It’s quality doesn’t compare with some of the more expensive boards, but it’s adequate. The playing surface is somewhat thin but the four castle corners is definitely unique. It matches up with the medieval type chess pieces and perhaps with the traditional style. It’s what looks good to you personally. It goes quite well with a 3 inch king with a 1 inch base. It has 1 1/2 inch squares. I put my Italfama French Set pieces on it just last night and it looked pretty darn good! The board goes for a wide price range from $40 to over $100. I found mine for the lower price at “Heyneedle” via e-bay. All in all it was just fine (at the lower price).
