This Chinese manufactured version of the Briggs & Stratton original carburetor is one of the closest clones I've seen. It's much lighter in weight than the original, since it is cast aluminum rather than the OEM steel or pot metal, but the finishing is good. The o-ring and gasket that were supplied with the new carb were both identical in size and shape as the originals, so I had no problems there. (Some purchasers have complained that the gasket that they received did not match up properly with all of the openings on the air filter side of the carb.) Some purchasers of these clone carburetors (from various vendors in China) have also complained that the surfaces of the engine and air filter mounting flanges on their carbs arrived with many dings, pits or gouges, which may cause a poor seal. The carb I purchased did not have this problem and I only observed a few minor scratches on the mounting flange surfaces. The carburetor I received got my mower's engine running again quickly and cheaply. The only negative comment I have is that with the new Chinese clone carburetor, it requires many more rapid pumps of the primer bulb to get the engine started, compared to the 3 pumps that were needed with the original Briggs carb. But once the engine is running, it performs every bit as well as with the original carb. So for a mere $10 investment, I am satisfied to have my mower back up and running, especially since I was unable to get my original Briggs carb cleaned well enough to get the engine running with it.Read full review

Although brand new, I could never get it to supply gas properly. There is too much of an angle on the float; engine would use more gas than could be supplied because of this. Eventually cleaned an old used carburetor, installed a new needle valve and seat; engine now works like it should. Sorry, but this is the way it occurred. New carburetor sits in the box it came in. Will probably through it away.

This carburetor package contains the essentials required for replacement of a Briggs carburetor and a tune-up of a Briggs engine. There are two caveats, however: First, make sure this kit fits your engine; there is more than one style of Briggs engine and my mower, a Sears Craftsman, used more than one manufacturer's engine in this model mower. Second, make sure the seal between the primer bulb plate (plastic, sits between the air filter and the carb body, holds the primer bulb etc.) and the carb body inlet is tight; without a good seal the primer bulb may not pump gas to the carb. (that's what the funny little gasket is for; make sure you put it on correctly.) It's pretty simple; even if you have never done this repair before you can do the job in about one-half hour if you have the tools. My mower now starts readily and runs with good power. This is the second one of these I have purchased and they work like a charm. Comes with the gaskets you need and is easy to remove and replace. The carb is cheap enough when I have a problem with a carburetor now I just buy a new one and remove and replace the troublesome one. Done in under half an hour.

I had been having trouble with my mower. Before getting another one, decided to try this inexpensive carburetor. I also got a section of new fuel line at my local hardware store to change at the same time, suspecting small bits of the line might be clogging the carburetor (common with ethanol fuels). With fresh fuel, a new fuel line, and this carburator, it started right up and I was off mowing! Easy to install, too. Comes with new gaskets, too!
