  • The Taking - Takes your breath away!

I picked up this book after I caught part of a Dean Koontz movie on TV (phantoms). I'd never read any of his books, although I'd heard of him and he writes in my favorite genre. I read this book in one afternoon- I couldn't put it down. The descriptions painted a clear picture in my mind and I felt as though I was there. I was drawn in by Molly, the main character , and rooted for her as she tried to grasp the magnitude of the situation. The pace of the book was just right, unraveling enough details so that you think you may know what is going on. There is plenty of suspense, and several items of out-and-out grotesque horror, but nothing over-the-top. The underlying theme or message of the book really made me think...I found myself thinking about the novel for a ...

  • The Taking By Dean Koontz

Another favorite author of mine,Just to give a start. Molly and Neil Sloan awaken to rain one morning, cannot shake off that something just isn't right. In a small California mountain town, not all is right,as soon they find out. Disturbing news across the globe, then their little town has lost their T.V.,and radio reception, then their phone and internet are down. After the pounding of ceaseless rain, comes the fog. The town cut off.... it turns out to beanother great book from Dean Koontz.

  • Another OUTSTANDING book by Dean Koontz

Another OUTSTANDING book by Dean Koontz. I am in awe of Dean as a writer and his imagination. Each of his books fleshes out characters so you get to know them and really care about what happens to them...even the dogs! The Taking is another story by Dean Koontz where you think you are heading down a certain road, that road is meeting all your expectations and then, BANG!, a sudden detour leads down a completely different road where you look in your rear-view mirror and don't realize that you had no idea that was coming.
