Both moving and inspiring with high action! An award-winning film!
I had a feeling following a review of its trailer that it would be a powerful movie. Well, it far exceeded my high expectations. Tom Holland of our present Spider Man fame made his debut performance in this film and proved to play his role magnificently as did all of the characters. And for this film being based upon a true story made the title Impossible that much more meaningful. Even the extra features that informed us as to how the special effects were orchestrated added to the enjoyment of the film. It's a profoundly moving and inspiring film. The Impossible A Great Family Movie!
I love this movie the characters are very moving, as you follow the family through the aftermath of the Tsunami. The special love they share in trying to find each other, and strength Lucas must bear in helping his mother thru injuries sustained after the Tsunami hits. The bothers are all so cute, and convey a special bond, as well as the husband and wife in their search for each other. The Impossible is a wonderful riveting movie for all to watch. Naomi Watts is excellent in her mother part! I love this movie the characters are very moving, as you follow the family through the aftermath of the Tsunami. The special love they share in trying to find each other, and strength Lucas must bear in helping his mother thru injuries sustained after the Tsunami hits. I saw this movie for the first time just recently. I watched it on PureFlix and it said it had been modified for family viewing, so I'm not sure exactly what that meant. However, from what I saw, I can say it was a Fantastic movie. The characters were portrayed beautifully...all of them were very convincing. But in my mind, this was Tom Holland's (SpiderMan - Far from Home, etc.) absolute best performance. I've seen other movies about the Asian Tsunami that were OK, but this one captured the essence of it all in a way that left you inspired, rather than simply grateful that you weren't there yourself. Disasters show the real heart of people whether kind or selfish.
The show is heartwarming because it shows good people trying to help each other despite their own problems dealing with the results of powerful huge ocean waves, overwhelming terror of a tsunami, and the breaking up of nature plus the destruction of building materials violently thrust into bodies and unspeakable damage and death all around. The very end when the Dad unfolds the note of the man he was trying to help (whose wife was on the beach with their 2 year old daughter) brings tears to me every time I watch it. My hope turns to despair for him because of insurmountable odds against them.The show is heartwarming because it shows good people trying to help each other despite their own problems dealing with the results of powerful huge ocean waves, overwhelming terror of a tsunami, and the breaking up of nature plus the destruction of building materials violently thrust into bodies and unspeakable damage and death all around.
