This kit makes your outdoor generator's 110V power connection accessible inside your house. It provides six standard 110V receptacles inside your house (if your generator has a L14-30 110/220V receptacle, it will divide this circuit into the six 110V receptacles). IF you are certain that there isnt any wiring or plumbing where you are drilling thru the wall, installation is pretty easy and foolproof. Instructions included with the kit cover everything on how to connect to a generator that has a L14-30 or a L5-30 output receptacle. In the case of a L5-30, you need to change the output connector of your generator cable per instructions included in kit, or get an adapter. Because it does NOT connect to the home electrical system, you do not need any interlock to wire this, and you may not need a permit to install this kit. Read full review

Made of good hardy material that doesn't flex too easily. Solid heavy wiring that is of good length just in case the wall is thicker than standard wall thicknesses. I did have to add some heavy cushioning material between the wall and the outside unit because it doesn't fit flush against the wall and had lots of movement and only touched the wall on a small portion of the outside unit. If you have a large end on your extension cord or appliance, you will cover one or more outlets making them unusable because they're so close together on the inside unit. But, still makes it so easy to get your generator's power inside your structure when a power outage hits.

This is a great product. All parts are of good quality. The instructions are usable and the installation is easy enough. The install took me about an hour. It requires a basic understanding of electrical installation. If you don't feel comfortable I recommend hiring an electrician. This is perfect if you have a smaller backup generator (up to 7500watts) and you don't want to wire a transfer switch into you house electrical system.

This is a well made product. It enabled me to use my out door generator without having to run the power cord through a open window or door. It is fairly easy to install and gives you six outlets to use, It also has two led lights to let you know when the power is on. Although it is kind of expensive for what it is and you have to have the special adapter pig tail plug to connect it to your generator, but I believe it is still cheaper and easier to install than any alternative.

After sitting for three days and nights without power during the Texas freeze and a week of no power though one of the hurricanes, I decided to add a portable electric generator to the house. The power panel needs to be updated before a portable generator can be connected. The Reliance WKPBN30 kit was the quickest way to connect the generator from the outside of the house to the inside without opening a window. I could have put a kit together but after pricing the parts, the cost of the WKPBN30 kit was lower. The WKPBN30 kit was installed on the back wall of the house next to the utility connections. Installation was straight forward. Following the instructions, I picked a spot next to a stud that did not have any wiring - power sockets, telephone, or cable connections. The starting hole was drilled form the inside at the same level as the 120V power socket. You must take your time otherwise the spade drill bit can damage the sheet rock. The backwall on this house is T1-11 wood panel and the spade bit created a shallow hole with the drill point. To create a pilot hole though the outside wall, a sheet rock screw was driven though and then removed. The hole through the outside wall was drilled from the outside to prevent splintering. The kit is reasonably well made. With the exception of the electrical connections, all of the part are plastic - PVC. The outside box appears to be well made and weather resistant. The attached pictures show the install. Not that important, but the color of the outside box matches the wall. Read full review
