About this product

Product Information

In the year 2033, the world's water supply is controlled by Kesslee (Malcolm McDowell), a maniacal dictator who presides over the Water & Power company. Tank Girl (Lori Petty), a tough punk water poacher, struggles alongside her comrades to deliver the valuable resource to parched persons around the globe. But when Tank Girl is captured by Kesslee, he makes her work as one of his human automatons in the W & P mines. Her fate goes from bad to worse when Kesslee makes her a proposition: She can go free if she agrees to exterminate the ravenous Rippers--half-man, half-kangaroo beasts. But before she's forced to answer, along comes Jet Girl (Naomi Watts), who rescues Tank Girl from Kesslee's clutches. Now these two spunky chicks will do whatever it takes to destroy Kesslee and hydrate the desert planet. The film is based on the comic book by Alan Martin and Jamie Hewlett.

Big Fun With A Boom :)

So love this movie :) This version has scenes that I have never seen in others. Which just makes it more awesome :) The odd,post-apocalypse world is just a blast. Lori Petty nails Tank Girl and the main villain is just excellently played :) Overall just one awesome and fun movie, well worth it. Thank you :)

  • Tank Girl

There are many kinds of movies to watch for many reasons. Tank Girl is one that is just really fun to watch! From start to finish you find the story in a future world where the rarest and most precious comodity is water. Leave it to our hero (Lori Petty/Tank Girl) to stand and fight for the people's right to have the water controlled by the evil government/corporation that will kill everyone and anyone they have to for the water to stay right where it is... under their control. With great costumes, a terrific cast, gadgets and weapons, fun gimicks and even a Cole Porter musical number this is one of the comic book to movie films that really works. "Quirky" Does not begin to describe it. Oh, and Ice-T will never be able to live down his outfit in this film!

  • A quirky cult classic

I used to have this on VHS and watched it all the time. Super happy I can watch it again! I also forgot how good the soundtrack was!

  • Great story, great acting, and a great alt rock soundtrack...

This movie came out way ahead of its time and fits in with the surge in Anime crazy teenage girls looking for a role model. A humorous sci-fi look at big business beating down the little person, defeated by mutant Kangaroos and "Tank Girl". Naomi Watts in one of her earliest rolls is almost unrecognizable compared with the rolls she plays today.
