Its good to have a wall wart to power this trainer. Also its good to have good lighting because the display doesn't have a backlight. You have to be careful the CD door hinge is fragile and can break if stressed. The manual is clear enough for anyone to understand. The fine print is a little small in the manual, Tascam could have made a bigger manual and easier to read. The compressor function is noisy and the effects are ok, I turn them off. The CD effects are good. It is an all right CD player if your going to use it just as a player. I had one when they first came out in this model, sold it on eBay, then missed it and bought another on eBay. You just never know when you'll need it, so keep it around!!

This unit is not convenient to use compared to its successor the CD-BT2 model. The function buttons are dual purpose, but the CD-BT2 does not have dual function buttons. Also the CD door does not open wide, only about an inch, making it somewhat difficult to load or remove a CD. The BT2 model opens widely. There is no comparison, the more recent BT2 is much better than the BT1, but I couldn't find a BT2 model, so I got the BT1 as a back-up to my BT2 model.

I love the Tascam CD-BT1mk11 CD player. It is a must , for bass players. You can play the Cd at difference slow speeds, without the pitch changing. I am a bass player and this product help me learn to play bassline to my favorite songs. I do not dislike anything about this product. Tascam make several bass trainer, but this one was at a price I could afford.
I just need it for my play along cds.
