Many people will doubt this subwoofer, and compare it to much more expensive subs from other brands. From my experience over the last 4 months with it, it's been absolutely great to use. I've been powering it with a used rpa16 amp, bridged to an 8 ohm load. For testing in my studio room, I tucked it into my closet, and ran a hidden wire to the amp. Paired with my ten inch rockville monitors, it shook not only everything in my room, but everything in the lower floors of the building as well. The subwoofer doesn't get too low, but as a PA speaker designed for more mainstream music, rather than low bass songs, it really excels. The small, compact box actually really contributes to its ability to produce very punchy, resounding bass frequencies. When I had coworkers visit my studio, they'd be shocked to hear it, when they had no idea a sub was even in there. For 118 bucks, with free shipping, I don't care if it's not as good as my 2,000 QSCs, pick one up asap!Read full review

I needed a new system and I expected to spend about two grand on whatever I got. And then I found Rockville! The price seemed too good to be true! Apparently that's what everyone thought considering there were NO ONLINE REVIEWS TO BE FOUND! So I went out on a limb and took the dive. I recommend these subs for professional application 100% on a few conditions: 1) Buy a second RPA9 amplifier because the one amp that is provided is not enough for clean head room. Powering one sub per amp will get the air moving and gives you a sufficient amount of clean head room. 2) Buy an equalizer! The amp has a high and low pass but it's channel based. Channel A is Low and B is High but when it's turned on it cuts nearly ALL of the low end out no matter what channel you plug into. Run the amp at full range but put an equalizer in front of it and pull out all but the low end. I'm not a fan of voices coming from my subs.. that's what I have tops for. 3) Leave them on the floor.. maybe even flip them over so they sit flat or take the rubber feet off. I tried both ways and the bass was much punchier when the subs sat flat agains the floor as opposed to the rubber feet that come on them. Overall they sound great and they punch the air exactly the way I expected them to but only after I made those adjustments! Have fun. The adjustments I made are only recommendations.Read full review

Surprised that these were lighter in weight. I will be putting damping material in these as I do in all my speakers. For the price you can't beat them. Now I run 4 18' subs and 4-2/ 15' column speakers. I prefer passive speakers with passive crossover system. I use 4 power amps. I do outdoor shows. Considering another pair for this summer. Seem well constructed. Nice low end.

They don't sound bad, but the corner on one cab was busted all up from being dropped, and I didn't want to go through the hassle of sending it back so I repaired it as much as possible and now just dealing with a sub par cab. I would think twice about ordering another set .
