My daughter loves this one. Lots of Singing & Dancing!
Although, I wasn't happy with how Disney put together this movie, my daughter loves it. Kathy Bates was NOT a good Miss Hannigan. In fact, as such a great actress that she is, this roll just did not fit her. She was horrible as Miss Hannigan. I thought Alan Cumming did a supurb job. He was wonderful and made this movie, as the part of 'Rooster'. I loved him, never noticed him before until this movie. This movie was sloppy, as seeing it from a parents point-of- view. The director and writers did a half-of-an-effort job at creating this movie. There should of be more rewrites. The original Annie is still the best one, and no one can beat Carol Burnett as Miss Hannigan, she should of received an Oscar for her roll as Miss Hannigan. She's amazing in the Annie from the ... We Love the Annie 2000 DVD that we purchased on Ebay!!
This DVD was up for auction for a very low price and we were the only bidders on this item which was nice for us because we got it at an excellent price including shipping. We have a little girl in kindergarten and when I was little I loved the ANNIE Movie so I thought we should have one here in our house so she could watch it. I didn't realize how much she would actually like it until we played it for the first time and she always wants to watch it over and over. This movie is very theatrical with a lot of music and dancing which our daughter loves.This DVD was up for auction for a very low price and we were the only bidders on this item which was nice for us because we got it at an excellent price including shipping. Great movie for kids!!!
I think that this is a great movie. I grew up watching the Annie movie put out in the 80's. I even bought it for my girls (Age 3 & 4) to watch. They loved it too, but I was uncomfortable about the PG rating, Ms. Hannigans drinking and romantic life, as well as the scare factor at the end. I have to hand it to Disney for cleaning this one up. It still has all the great songs, same basic story line and a quality performance for all. WE LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!I think that this is a great movie. A kid's favorite!
The newer Annie (2003) is fantastic! My daughters absolutely love the singing and dancing! Not to mention, Sandy, the dog!!! I decided to buy it for them because I remember loving it when I saw it back in 2003. Alicia Morton, Victor Garber and Audra McDonald are great in this movie. Also, the original Annie makes a cameo during the song "NYC." If you have kids, you need to give this movie a shot!The newer Annie (2003) is fantastic! My daughters absolutely love the singing and dancing! Not to mention, Sandy, the dog!!! I decided to buy it for them because I remember loving it when I saw it back in 2003. Annie DVD Review
The movie reminds me when I used to watch Annie as a child. I bought it for my 6 year old daughter who really wanted it after we saw the play. It's such a fun movie to watch together as we sing along to the great songs. I had trouble finding the movie in the library or video store, so I was happy to find it on ebay. The quality is great and the movie was delivered very quick!
