    soldering extraction fan assembly

    excellent value for the moneys considering esd dissipative properties soldering process must be in relative close proximity of exhaust fan inlet shroud when used perpendicularly. did not check in overhead position but suspect wuld be even more efficient since rosin flux fumes tend to buoy vertically

    Good build quality, lackluster performance

    This seemed like a good deal since most other fume extractors are much more expensive. While the unit is well put together the fan is incredibly weak and can barely pull the solder away unless it’s right over where you’re working. Do not buy this unit, buy one that actually works!

    Good value for the money

    Unit was larger than I expected with the face of the fan 9"x9". Relatively quiet for its size. Good pull-through. I mounted it directly above my solder station (about 28" above the area where I solder) and it pulls the fumes very well. Good deal for the money; I used it for a few days and it seems to work well so far.

    Needs a stronger fan motor

    It is built structurally fine and should last a long time. I don't think the fan motor is strong enough for large amounts of smoke or at least it wasn't doing well when I used it one foot away. I guess if you use it right over the spot you're working on it would be fine. But, I purchased this fan to send the smoke out a window.
