Even though the package directions don't specify that the Giant Destroyers are effective against Prairie dogs, they work incredibly well--if the vermin are IN the burrow. We had a very large population of prairie dogs on only three and a half acres, and tried various methods of extermination. Most of them were worthless, but the Giant Destroyer is amazing! They can also be used safely close to homes and other dwellings. I bought them the first time from a local farm and ranch supply store, and then I found them much cheaper online. If purchased from the right seller they cost half as much, and they are identical in content and quality to those bought in a retail store (at least in my region of the country). IMPORTANT: If the hole used by these destructive vermin opens up again, one of two scenarios has come into play: Either they had an escape "hatch" or other opening that let in fresh air, or a different prairie dog dug out the hole from above (burrows are "marked" by droppings around the mounds, and by this other prairie dogs know exactly where to dig). Care should be taken in the use of this product, especially the way I do it; I wait until the split second the cartridge itself begins to burn, then quickly insert it into the deepest part of the tunnel I can reach. For prairie dogs, that's usually where it makes a dogleg and goes deep into the ground. The reason I wait until the cartridge ignites is because the fuse is sometimes extinguished by loose dirt before the cartridge ignites. It can also be snuffed out by dirt shoveled on top to close off the opening, so I stuff newspapers into grocery bags beforehand. The second I insert the burning cartridge into the tunnel I grab a stuffed bag, push it into the opening and then shovel dirt on top. What I love most about the Giant Destroyers is they are very effective; secondly, you don't have to have a license to apply pesticides to buy and use them. If you take care not to breathe the smoke from the burning cartridge, they are harmless to humans and can be safely used by anyone who can read and follow directions.Read full review

This is a good product. The challenge is getting to the main living quarters of the burrows. I found many tunnels that had been dug. The best thing to do for me was to keep digging until I could determine that I was close enough to the main hole before setting the smoke bomb off, then cover the hole up to keep the smoke trapped in the tunnel. If you find yourself short of bombs you can always pour gasoline into the hole and light it off. You just have to be smart enough to put the gas can down somewhere away from the site of ignition before you strike the match. If in doubt of doing it this way......don't.

We have had problems with moles over the past few years. We live in the country and our property is surrounded by a wildlife area. I have previously spent a small fortune trying to get rid of these pests. Not only were they ruining our yard, our dogs, if not watched constantly, would go digging after them. Between the dogs and moles, our yard was taking on the look of a small mine field. No matter what product I had previously tried, they kept coming back. Finally, I found The Giant Destroyer. At the first sign of their return, I used it as instructed. They are GONE! It's been over a month now and I have not seen any signs. Amazing product! Highly recommend!

This product is the only remedy available to me for killing groundhogs who move into a burrow under a building next to my vegetable garden. Follow the package directions carefully and you will have success. However, you may have to repeat the treatment on a daily basis because they live as families and members may be away from home at the time you treat the burrow. Just check to see if any of the entrances have been re-opened. This is my second year of using this product and recommend it to anyone with a groundhog problem!

I bought these "Giant Destroyer" Gas Bombs for a gopher problem I had. These work well if used properly. I would recommend digging a hole big enough to place the entire gas bomb in without pressing the end against any obstructions. I would then plug the hole with a rock that fit snuggly inside the entrance of the hole then put dirt on top of the rock to seal the fumes inside. I will be buying more of these.
